We have put together an optional social programme for delegate to enjoy a taste of Dublin and flavour of Ireland during the Sellars Centenary Conference and Workshop in June.

The conference dinner is a great opportunity to socialise and network with your international colleagues after a busy day. The dinner will consist of a three course meal with wine followed by tea and coffee. For those who wish to, there will be plenty of time to wander across the road and end the evening in the Gingerman Pub (an impromtu music session may even happen).

DUBLIN LITERARY PUB CRAWL

As Dublin is known for its pubs any visitor would find it fascinating to learn more out about the wonderful culture Irish pubs hold dear. This tour will be guided by actors with a wide knowledge of Irish literature. Ireland is home to some of the worlds most famous and respected writers such as James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, W.B Yates, Seamus Heaney and many more. Could there be a better way of experiencing this tour than sitting back with a drink and enjoying your tour guides perform scenes from world famous works.

GUINNESS STOREHOUSE

If you would like to taste a pint of the worldwide famous Guinness why not have it pulled from its home or even pull it yourself! On this guided tour of Dublin's number one “must see” attraction you will witness the story of this brewery that began 250 years ago. While going up through a glass elevator you will see all 8 floors and get to know why the storehouse is what it is today. Then of course you will end your tour at the top, in the Gravity Bar which presents a breathtaking view of Dublin and yes, a pint of world famous Guinness. This bar also offers a selection of other drinks such as wine and beers so everyone can sit back and enjoy the view.
